The VALUE COLLECTION CR-16-4 is a cartridge roll mandrel designed to hold and drive abrasive cartridge rolls in rotary power tools such as die grinders and drill presses. The mandrel features a 3/16 inch pilot diameter with a 1 inch pilot length, paired with a 1/4 inch shank diameter and a 2-1/4 inch shank length, giving it a 4 inch overall length. The quick-change design allows for fast cartridge roll swaps without additional tooling. It is a standard accessory used by machinists, metalworkers, and maintenance technicians for deburring, blending, and surface finishing work.
This mandrel is suited for bench or portable rotary tool applications where cartridge rolls are used on metal, composite, or similar workpiece materials. Typical use cases include weld blending, port work, and contour finishing in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The 1/4 inch shank fits the collets and chucks found on most standard die grinders and rotary tools.
Designed as a standard replacement or add-on mandrel for use with 3/16 inch bore abrasive cartridge rolls in die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a 1/4 inch collet or chuck.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool operators familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Ensure the power tool is unplugged or the air supply is disconnected before loading or unloading the cartridge roll. Insert the 1/4 inch shank fully into the collet and tighten securely before operation. Follow the tool and abrasive manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM to avoid unsafe operation.
