The locking action comes from a deliberately deformed thread profile that creates interference fit when engaged, providing reusable prevailing torque. Sized at 3/8-16 UNC/UNF thread with a 21/64 inch height and 9/16 inch width across flats, this nut is manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish for basic corrosion resistance. It is sold in a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces per order.
This nut is suited for general mechanical assembly, structural fastening, and equipment maintenance applications where vibration resistance is required without the temperature limitations of nylon-insert lock nuts.
