The VALUE COLLECTION CA3082U31 is a Type 1 aluminum oxide cut-off wheel designed for fast, straight parting cuts on steel. The wheel measures 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inches thick with a 1/4 inch arbor hole, making it a direct fit for most die grinders. A resinoid bond and reinforced fiberglass construction hold the 36-grit abrasive matrix together under load, allowing operation at speeds up to 25,000 RPM. The coarser 36-grit designation means faster stock removal with a rougher kerf, well suited to general fabrication and maintenance cutting rather than finish work.
This cut-off wheel is intended for die grinder use in ferrous metal applications, primarily steel. It fits standard 1/4 inch collet die grinders used in maintenance, fabrication, and mechanical service environments. The Type 1 flat-profile geometry keeps the cut narrow and directs heat away from the workpiece edge. Typical use cases include cutting bolt stock, sheet metal, weld tack removal, and conduit in tight-access areas where a larger angle grinder will not fit.
Designed for use with die grinders accepting a 1/4 inch arbor and rated for operation at or above 25,000 RPM. Rated application material is steel per the A36R US specification.
Die grinder cut-off wheels must be installed and operated by a qualified technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 25,000 RPM maximum marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never operate a damaged wheel. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection and ensure the work area is clear of flammable materials before starting a cut.
