The VALUE COLLECTION C87757 is a 3/8 inch diameter jobber-length drill bit designed for heavy-duty metal drilling applications. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel (HSS) with a black and gold oxide coating, this bit resists heat buildup and extends cutting life in demanding shop and field conditions. The 135-degree split point geometry allows the bit to self-center on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard or smooth surfaces. Web thinning further reduces cutting resistance and improves chip evacuation. With a 5 inch overall length and 3-5/8 inch flute length, this is a standard jobber configuration suited to most portable and bench drill applications. It is installed by machinists, fabricators, and trade technicians working across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural metal applications.
This drill bit is intended for use in right-hand rotation drills, drill presses, and compatible CNC setups. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter, fitting standard three-jaw chucks without adapters. The regular spiral flute geometry handles general-purpose drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar metals. The heavy-duty M7 HSS material grade makes it a reliable choice when drilling into harder alloys or when extended run times are expected in production or service environments.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit compatible with standard 3-jaw drill chucks accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank, for use in portable drills, drill presses, and compatible CNC spindles.
This bit is installed and changed by machinists, HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers using standard drill chuck keys or keyless chucks. Ensure the drill is powered off and unplugged, or the cordless battery is removed, before changing bits. Apply cutting fluid when drilling harder metals to extend bit life and reduce heat. Do not use this bit in left-hand rotation without confirming application suitability, as the flute geometry is designed for right-hand cutting only.
