The VALUE COLLECTION C39053 is a smooth flange bolt designed for high-strength fastening applications requiring a wide, integrated bearing surface. It features a 5/8-11 UNC thread size, a 4-inch length under head, and a hex drive for standard wrench installation. The bolt is partially threaded with a 1.5-inch thread length, leaving the shank unthreaded for shear-resistant joints. Manufactured from Grade 8 alloy steel in an uncoated finish, it meets IFI 111 and SAE J429 standards. The smooth flange distributes clamping load over a 1-21/64 inch (1.3281 inch) flange diameter, reducing the need for a separate washer. Electricians, pipefitters, millwrights, and general mechanical contractors install this type of fastener in structural and equipment mounting applications.
This flange bolt is suited for industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty mechanical assemblies where a larger bearing surface is needed to prevent bolt pull-through or surface damage. Partial threading makes it appropriate for lap joints and through-bolted connections where the unthreaded shank must carry shear loads. Typical applications include equipment base plates, structural steel connections, machinery mounts, and fabricated assemblies requiring a Grade 8 rated fastener. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed as a standard inch-series flange bolt for use with 5/8-11 UNC threaded holes, nuts, and couplings in structural and mechanical assemblies conforming to IFI 111 and SAE J429 specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified mechanics, millwrights, or maintenance technicians using standard hex wrenches or impact tools sized for the bolt head. Torque the fastener to the value specified in the applicable joint design or equipment service documentation for Grade 8 hardware — do not apply a generic torque value without consulting the engineering specification. Ensure mating threads are clean and free of debris before assembly. When used in structural applications, verify compliance with applicable building or equipment codes before installation.
