The VALUE COLLECTION C22128 is a No. 8 oval head Phillips sheet metal screw designed for light-gauge metal fastening applications in HVAC, electrical, and general sheet metal work. Manufactured from Grade 1016-1024 steel with a zinc-plated finish, this screw resists corrosion in typical indoor and light-exposure environments. The Type AB point provides aggressive thread engagement for self-starting penetration into thin metal panels and brackets. Overall length is 1.5 inches, and the Phillips drive accepts a No. 2 bit. Sold in packs of 50, this fastener meets AISI 1016, ANSI/ASME B18.6.4, ASME B18.6.3, and SAE J933 standards.
This screw is suited for securing sheet metal panels, junction box covers, duct flanges, equipment access doors, and similar thin-metal assemblies in residential and commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing applications. The oval head profile sits slightly proud of the surface, providing a finished appearance where fastener heads are visible. The zinc-plated finish is appropriate for dry or mildly humid indoor service conditions. Installers working on equipment enclosures, control boxes, or ductwork will find this a standard go-to fastener.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or general-use fastener for light-gauge sheet metal assemblies, equipment panels, and enclosures common in HVAC, electrical, and mechanical trade applications.
Installation is performed with a No. 2 Phillips bit driver or screwdriver. De-energize all electrical equipment and relieve any system pressure before accessing panels or enclosures secured by these fasteners. Pre-drilling a pilot hole is not required due to the Type AB point, but thin or hardened base materials may benefit from a pilot. Follow applicable NEC or mechanical code requirements when fastening electrical enclosures or HVAC equipment panels.
