The VALUE COLLECTION C207-CP1561000 is an extended prong cotter pin used to secure fasteners, clevis pins, and shaft assemblies across a wide range of mechanical and structural applications. It measures 5/32 inches in diameter and 1 inch in usable length. Constructed from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish, it resists corrosion in light-duty service environments. The extended prong design allows the prongs to be bent back quickly after installation, locking the pin securely in place. This pin meets ASME B18.8.1 dimensional standards and is RoHS compliant. It is suitable for use by millwrights, maintenance technicians, plumbers, and HVAC mechanics working on equipment with pinned linkage or clevis connections.
Extended prong cotter pins see regular use in residential and light commercial mechanical systems, including HVAC damper linkages, pump shaft assemblies, valve stems, and general equipment maintenance. The 5/32-inch diameter and 1-inch usable length suit mid-range clevis and drilled-pin applications where a standard prong pin would not provide adequate retention or ease of removal. This pin is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for stocking in maintenance supply bins or service vehicles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or maintenance stock cotter pin for any application requiring a 5/32-inch diameter extended prong cotter pin conforming to ASME B18.8.1 standards.
Installation is performed by maintenance technicians and mechanics using standard needle-nose pliers or cotter pin tools. Always relieve mechanical load from the pinned assembly before inserting or removing the cotter pin. Insert the pin fully through the drilled hole so the head seats flush, then spread the prongs apart to secure. Do not reuse a previously bent cotter pin, as repeated deformation reduces retention reliability.
