The VALUE COLLECTION C1100708 is a Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for milling the semicircular keyseats used in Woodruff key applications on shafts and mating bores. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter and a 0.2188-inch (7/32 inch) cutting width, with a 1/2-inch shank diameter for secure chuck or collet holding. The cutter is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish and carries 12 straight teeth for clean, consistent material removal. It conforms to ANSI Standard 708, Old Standard Number 14. Overall length is 2.2188 inches. This tool is suited for machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working on shaft-and-key assemblies.
This cutter is used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and manufacturing environments where precise keyseat milling is required. Typical applications include cutting Woodruff keyseats in steel, aluminum, and other machinable metals on lathes or milling machines. The straight tooth configuration is well suited for general-purpose keyseat work where smooth cutting action and reliable chip clearance are needed. It is appropriate for both production and repair applications involving Woodruff key shaft connections.
Designed as a standard Woodruff keyseat cutter conforming to ANSI 708, Old Standard Number 14, suitable for use on vertical milling machines and horizontal mills with a 1/2-inch collet or chuck accepting a straight shank tool.
Installation and use of this cutter should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling machine operation and cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or changing the cutter. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning the cut. Use appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and always wear eye protection during machining operations.
