The VALUE COLLECTION C03SL1-4 is an aluminum compression sleeve designed for use with 1/8 inch diameter wire rope. Compression sleeves, also called ferrules or swage sleeves, are crimped onto wire rope ends to form secure loop terminations, eye splices, or cable-to-fitting connections. This sleeve accepts 1/8 inch wire rope and is fabricated from aluminum, making it suited for applications where weight is a consideration and corrosion resistance is needed. Installation requires a compatible crimping or swaging tool. The finished connection is load-rated by the crimp, not the sleeve alone, so proper tooling and technique determine the joint's holding strength.
Compression sleeves of this type are used across rigging, lifting, safety, and tie-down applications. Common install scenarios include aircraft cable rigging for cabinetry, furniture, balustrades, and light structural tensioning systems. They are also used in marine and outdoor environments where a clean, slip-resistant wire rope termination is required. This sleeve ships individually and is sold in multiples of 100, making it appropriate for contractors or fabricators working on volume jobs that require numerous terminated rope ends.
Designed as a standard compression sleeve for use with 1/8 inch diameter wire rope assemblies across general rigging, structural cable, and light lifting applications.
Installation is performed by threading the wire rope through the sleeve, forming the desired loop or eye, and crimping with a properly sized swaging or compression tool rated for 1/8 inch aluminum sleeves. Do not use a hammer or improvised tool as a substitute for a calibrated crimping tool, as improper crimps reduce the rated holding capacity of the termination. Inspect each finished crimp for uniform deformation and no cracking before placing the assembly into service. Always verify that the finished assembly meets the load requirements of the application before use.
