The VALUE COLLECTION BS27N0013 is a No. 13 wire-size jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it measures 3.5 inches overall with a 2.3125-inch flute length. The 130-degree split-point geometry and slow spiral flute provide clean entry and efficient chip evacuation in softer metals. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements at the start of the cut. This bit is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, plumbers, and HVAC sheet metal workers who need reliable through-hole drilling in non-ferrous stock.
The BS27N0013 is suited for drilling aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials in light manufacturing, field service, and maintenance applications. Its 0.1850-inch diameter corresponds to a No. 13 wire gauge drill size, placing it in the 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch size range. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks on hand drills, drill presses, and milling machines. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard clockwise spindle rotation found on all common drilling equipment.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any standard three-jaw drill chuck accepting a 0.1850-inch straight shank, including hand drills, drill presses, and milling machine setups.
Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal prior to powering the spindle. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling aluminum to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Operate at spindle speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter per standard machining reference tables. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is observed to avoid workpiece damage.
