The VALUE COLLECTION BS27N0012 is a No. 12 wire size jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It cuts a 0.1890-inch diameter hole and features a 130-degree split-point geometry with web thinning to reduce walking and thrust on entry. The slow spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation when drilling aluminum, soft metals, and other non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 3.5 inches with a 2.3125-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank at 0.1890 inches in diameter. Right-hand cutting direction. Intended for use in drill presses, lathes, or hand-held power drills by machinists, maintenance techs, and fabricators working in general-purpose production or MRO environments.
This bit is rated for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials, making it well suited for sheet metal layout work, fixture building, and light production drilling where a standard wire-gauge hole is required. The ANSI-specification construction ensures dimensional consistency for applications where hole size must match standard wire gauge tolerances. The bright finish keeps the bit uncoated for applications where coating compatibility or post-treatment is a concern. Package quantity is one bit per unit.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1890-inch straight shank, including benchtop drill presses, turret lathes, and hand-held power drills. Suited for aluminum and non-ferrous materials per ANSI specification designation ANSI.
Install and remove drill bits only when the spindle is fully stopped and power is isolated from the machine. Secure the shank fully within the chuck jaws and tighten with a chuck key before beginning any operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve hole finish. Worn or damaged bits should be replaced rather than reground without proper equipment, as geometry changes affect hole size and finish quality.
