The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0042 is a wire gauge No. 42 jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. The 140-degree split-point geometry reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force, making it well suited for production drilling in steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials as well as wood. The bit measures 2.25 inches overall with a 1.25-inch fast-spiral flute and a straight cylindrical shank at 0.0935 inches in diameter. Web thinning with a tapered web configuration improves chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge during repeated use.

This bit is sized for general-purpose drilling in light fabrication, HVAC sheet metal, electrical enclosure work, plumbing bracket installation, and similar trade applications where a No. 42 wire gauge hole is required. The fast spiral flute clears chips efficiently in both through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for use in conventional drill presses, cordless drivers, and hand drills. No coolant-through capability is present, so external lubrication is recommended when drilling ferrous metals at sustained feed rates.
