The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0015 is a wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit sized to No. 15 (0.1800 inch decimal equivalent) and manufactured from high speed steel (HSS). The 140-degree split-point geometry reduces walking at startup and requires less feed force compared to a standard 118-degree point. A fast spiral flute promotes efficient chip evacuation, making the bit well suited for drilling steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals, as well as wood. The bright, uncoated finish means the bit ships ready to use without additional surface prep. Overall length is 3.375 inches with a 2.1875-inch flute length. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters.
This general-purpose bit is used across a wide range of trade and light industrial drilling tasks. Machinists, pipefitters, sheet-metal workers, electricians, and maintenance technicians reach for wire-gauge bits when working to close dimensional tolerances that fractional sizes cannot hit. The No. 15 size is commonly used for tap-drill and clearance-hole work in steel plate, aluminum extrusions, and structural members in both shop and field environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and hand-drill operation.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit suitable for use in standard drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and handheld power drills accepting a straight-shank bit of 0.1800 inch diameter. Conforms to ANSI specification standards.
Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, or any trade professional operating drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before beginning a cut. Apply a suitable cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend bit life and reduce heat. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use; a dull or damaged bit should be resharpened or replaced rather than forced through the workpiece.
