The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0003 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 3, which corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.213 inches. It features a 140-degree split-point geometry with web thinning, which reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force when drilling into steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks. With an overall length of 3.75 inches and a flute length of 2.5 inches, this bit fits within the standard jobber-length class and is appropriate for bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drill cycles in general-purpose production or maintenance work.
This drill bit is suited for residential and commercial trades, fabrication shops, and maintenance applications where a No. 3 wire gauge hole is required. Typical materials include mild steel, aluminum, brass, and wood. The fast spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation in softer materials and moderate-feed steel drilling. No coolant-through capability is present, making this appropriate for manual-feed or low-speed production setups with applied cutting fluid rather than internal coolant delivery.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in any standard three-jaw drill chuck accepting a 0.213-inch straight shank, including bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling stations rated for HSS tooling.
Installation is performed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians whenever a No. 3 gauge hole is required during fabrication or field work. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before beginning a drilling cycle. Apply a suitable cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before reuse; a damaged point increases deflection risk and reduces hole accuracy.
