The VALUE COLLECTION BS260000G is a letter-size G jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, aluminum, non-ferrous materials, and wood. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright/uncoated finish, this bit features a 140-degree split-point geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web construction that reduces entry force and improves chip clearance. The fast spiral flute design moves chips out of the hole efficiently, reducing heat buildup during extended drilling cycles. With an overall length of 4.125 inches and a decimal diameter of 0.261 inches, it fits standard drill chucks and is suited for both bench and portable drill use by machinists, maintenance techs, and general tradespeople.
This drill bit is sized to the letter G designation (0.2610 inches decimal), placing it in the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch size range per ANSI specification. It is suited for right-hand rotation drilling in steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and wood. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw chucks on drill presses, hand drills, and milling machine setups. A bright/uncoated finish keeps the surface true to dimension without coating buildup, which is preferred when working with non-ferrous materials where coatings can cause galling.
Designed as a general-purpose ANSI-standard jobber drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.2610-inch straight shank, compatible with drill presses, hand drills, and milling setups across a wide range of shop and field applications.
This bit is installed by machinists and maintenance tradespeople using standard drill press or portable drill equipment. Before use, verify the chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling steel to reduce heat and extend bit life. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for the material being drilled, as HSS bits without coatings are more susceptible to heat damage from dry high-speed runs in ferrous metals.
