The VALUE COLLECTION BOW-23856 is a fully insulated, crimp-on butt splice terminal designed for making secure, in-line wire connections in electrical wiring applications. The terminal uses a heat shrink polyolefin sleeve that shrinks over the connection when heat is applied, creating a tight, moisture-resistant seal around the crimp joint. This construction helps protect spliced conductors from vibration, corrosion, and environmental exposure. The yellow color coding identifies the wire gauge range this terminal is rated for. Electricians and field technicians use crimp-on butt splices as a fast, reliable method for extending or repairing wire runs without soldering.
This butt splice terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever two wire ends need to be joined in line. Common applications include panel wiring, control circuit repairs, appliance service, and automotive or marine wiring harness work. The crimp-on connection method is compatible with standard ratcheting crimp tools and requires no specialized equipment beyond basic hand tools. The heat shrink insulation makes this terminal a good choice for installations exposed to moisture or mechanical stress.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or general-use crimp terminal compatible with standard crimp tooling used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or trained technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any wire connections. Use a ratcheting crimp tool sized for the terminal gauge to ensure a proper crimp; do not over-crimp or use pliers as a substitute. After crimping, apply heat evenly along the sleeve with a heat gun until the polyolefin shrinks uniformly around the wire and the adhesive liner seals the joint.
