The VALUE COLLECTION BDNA-C94192 is a closed-style wire rope thimble designed to protect rope loops at termination points. Formed from galvanized steel, this thimble fits into a swaged or swaged-and-seized eye to prevent the rope from kinking and wearing at the bend. It is sized for 5/16 inch rope diameter and is a standard hardware component used in rigging, lifting, and cable-tensioning assemblies. Electricians, riggers, and general contractors install thimbles whenever a looped wire rope end must bear a load without deforming the rope strands over time.
This thimble is suited for light-duty to medium-duty rigging applications including wire rope guy lines, cable railings, hoisting assemblies, and anchor-point terminations. The closed design holds the thimble in place within the eye before the swage or crimp is applied, which is useful for single-tech installations. It is appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use where galvanized corrosion protection is acceptable for the environment.
Designed for use with 5/16 inch diameter wire rope in standard swaged-eye, crimped-eye, or seized-eye termination assemblies.
Installation is typically performed by riggers or general tradespeople familiar with wire rope terminal hardware. Before installing, confirm rope diameter matches the thimble groove to ensure proper seating and load distribution. The thimble should be fully seated in the rope loop before swaging or crimping the sleeve; an improperly seated thimble can shift under load and reduce the integrity of the termination. Follow applicable ASME B30 rigging standards and jobsite safety requirements when assembling load-bearing wire rope assemblies.
