The VALUE COLLECTION BDNA-33952 is a Grade 30 cold shut link used to connect and close chain assemblies in lifting, rigging, and load-securing applications. The link measures 3/8 inch in diameter and carries a rated load limit of 1,900 pounds, making it suited for light-to-medium duty rigging tasks. Cold shut links are single-use, field-closeable connectors that are struck closed with a hammer rather than threaded or pinned. Riggers, maintenance technicians, and construction tradespeople commonly use these links when a quick, semi-permanent chain connection is needed without a screw pin or bolt-type connector.
This cold shut link is appropriate for use in general rigging, towing, tie-down, and chain repair applications across construction, agricultural, and industrial maintenance environments. It is designed for use with Grade 30 proof coil chain and similar light-duty chain systems. Avoid use in overhead lifting applications where dynamic or shock loading is a concern, as cold shut links are not rated for overhead lifting per ASME and OSHA standards.
Designed for use with Grade 30 proof coil chain in general rigging, tie-down, and chain repair applications. Not intended for overhead lifting or high-cycle dynamic load scenarios.
Cold shut links are installed by placing the open end over the chain link and striking the closure tab with a hammer until fully seated. Inspect the closed link for full closure and deformation before applying any load. These links are considered single-use and should not be reopened or reused after closure. Always verify that the connected chain and all hardware are rated at or above the intended working load before use.
