The VALUE COLLECTION BDNA-15826 is a wrot copper 90 degree elbow fitting designed for sweat-connect copper piping systems. Sized at 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches with a cup-by-cup (C x C) end connection, this fitting joins two copper pipe runs at a right angle using standard solder or braze methods. The outside diameter measures 1-5/8 inches on each end. Wrot copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and a refined grain structure, which supports reliable pressure-rated joints in both pressure and drain applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic piping installations where a 90 degree directional change is required. It is compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch copper tube and mates with any C x C socket fitting of the same nominal size. Typical applications include supply and return piping in hydronic heating loops, domestic hot and cold water distribution, and in-wall or overhead copper rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch nominal copper tube in C x C sweat configurations per ASTM and ASME B16.22 wrot copper fitting standards.
Installation of copper sweat fittings is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local jurisdictional requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system and allow all pipe sections to cool fully before cutting or fitting. Clean all pipe ends and fitting cups with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering; use lead-free solder for any potable water application as required by code. Do not apply heat to a fitting that has not been fully prepared and fluxed, and allow joints to cool undisturbed before restoring system pressure.
