The VALUE COLLECTION BD-39867 is a hex split bolt connector designed for joining aluminum and copper conductors in a single, secure termination. Built from silicon bronze with a copper alloy body, this connector accepts wire sizes ranging from 6 AWG (stranded) through 2/0 AWG, making it a versatile choice for branch circuit splices and tap connections. The hex head profile allows technicians to drive the pressure bar with a standard wrench or socket, delivering consistent clamping force without special tooling. It carries a UL Listed rating, meeting the standards required for use in commercial and residential electrical installations. Each package contains 5 connectors.
This connector is well suited for above-panel and in-conduit wire splices where aluminum-to-copper or copper-to-copper conductor joins are required. Electricians use split bolt connectors in service entrance work, feeder runs, and branch circuit extensions where a listed mechanical connection is mandated by code. The silicon bronze pressure bar resists galvanic corrosion, which is particularly important when joining dissimilar metals such as aluminum and copper conductors in wet or damp locations.

Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Apply an antioxidant compound to aluminum conductors before insertion to prevent oxidation at the contact interface. Use a calibrated torque wrench if a specific torque value is called out on the connector or in the listing instructions; do not overtighten, as doing so can damage conductor strands.
