The VALUE COLLECTION BD-29520 is a cartridge-style, time delay fuse rated at 15 amps and 200 kiloamps (kA) interrupting capacity, classified RK5 for general-purpose overcurrent protection. The time delay characteristic allows momentary inrush currents, such as those produced during motor starts, to pass without nuisance opening, while still providing fast response to sustained overloads and short-circuit faults. This dual-element cartridge construction is a standard format used in fusible disconnect switches, load centers, and panelboards across residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems. Licensed electricians and qualified maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this fuse class.
The BD-29520 is suited for branch-circuit and feeder protection in applications where inrush current tolerance is required, such as motor circuits, transformer primaries, and HVAC equipment feeders. The RK5 classification places this fuse in a current-limiting category, providing a higher level of protection than older non-current-limiting classes. This fuse ships in a package quantity of 10, making it practical for stocking in service vans or maintenance shops. It meets multiple recognized standards including UL 198E, CSA certification, and Federal Specification W-F-1814 QPL.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-stock cartridge fuse for use in RK5-rated fusible disconnects, load centers, and panelboards requiring a 15-amp time delay overcurrent protective device.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing fuses. Use an appropriately rated fuse puller when handling cartridge fuses to avoid contact with energized components. Verify that the replacement fuse class, amperage rating, and voltage rating match the requirements of the circuit and the fuse holder before energizing.
