The VALUE COLLECTION BD-18371 is a locking fork terminal designed for secure, permanent electrical connections in wiring harness and panel wiring applications. Partially insulated with a nylon sleeve in yellow, this crimp-style terminal accommodates a No. 8 stud size and is rated for up to 600 volts. The copper contact body features a titanium nitride (TiN) plating for enhanced corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. This terminal is sold in a package of 25 and is intended for installation by electricians and experienced wiring technicians who require a UL Listed, CSA Certified solution for branch-circuit and control-panel terminations.
Locking fork terminals like the BD-18371 are commonly used in residential and light commercial electrical panels, HVAC control wiring, motor connection points, and equipment enclosures where a positive mechanical lock on the stud is required. The locking tab design prevents the terminal from backing off the stud under vibration, making it well suited for equipment that cycles frequently or operates in environments with mechanical vibration. The yellow color coding is a standard indicator used to identify the wire gauge range appropriate for this terminal family.
Designed as a standard crimp-style locking fork terminal for No. 8 stud applications in electrical panels, control enclosures, and equipment wiring where a partially insulated, 600-volt rated termination is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or inspecting connections. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool sized for the terminal and wire gauge to ensure a proper crimp — an under-crimped or over-crimped terminal can result in high resistance or mechanical failure. Inspect the nylon insulation sleeve for cracking after crimping and verify the locking tab is fully engaged on the stud before re-energizing.
