The VALUE COLLECTION BD-17970N is a TFFN-rated stranded copper building wire designed for general wiring applications in fixtures, equipment, and control panels. This 16 AWG wire carries a 10 amp rating at 600 volts and runs 500 feet per spool, making it suitable for longer runs without mid-run splicing. The conductor is stranded with 26 individual copper strands for improved flexibility compared to solid wire. A nylon jacket over thermoplastic insulation gives this wire resistance to abrasion, moisture, oil, gasoline, ozone, and UV exposure. It is UL Listed and meets OSHA acceptable standards. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This wire is used in residential and light commercial electrical work, particularly in conduit runs, lighting fixture wiring, and motor lead applications where a flexible, thin-wall insulated wire is required. The yellow jacket color aids in circuit identification during installation and service. The TFFN construction makes it well suited for tight spaces inside fixtures and enclosures where a smaller-diameter wire is advantageous. The 500-foot spool length supports both large single-run jobs and shop stock for service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or stock wire for residential and light commercial conduit wiring applications requiring TFFN-rated 16 AWG stranded copper conductor.
Installation of building wire must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before pulling or terminating wire. TFFN wire is rated for use in conduit and is not suitable as direct-burial or open-air wiring without additional protection. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Article 358 or the applicable conduit article before pulling wire.
