The VALUE COLLECTION BD-13831 is a 1/4-inch black steel female coupling designed for threaded pipe assemblies in industrial and mechanical piping systems. Built to Schedule 80 specifications, this fitting provides greater wall thickness and pressure tolerance compared to standard Schedule 40 fittings. The black finish results from a mill-applied oxide coating that offers basic corrosion resistance in dry or mildly humid environments. End connections are National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded on both sides, allowing the coupling to join two male-threaded pipe ends in a straight-run configuration. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work.
