The VALUE COLLECTION B8MS062C500-D is a fully threaded stud manufactured from stainless steel to ASTM Material Grade B8. The stud features a 5/8-11 unified coarse thread with a Class 2A thread fit, meaning it meets standard external thread tolerance requirements for general industrial and mechanical fastening applications. At 5 inches overall length, the entire shaft carries continuous threading from end to end with no unthreaded shank. It ships uncoated, preserving the natural corrosion resistance of the stainless steel base material. Plumbers, pipefitters, millwrights, and maintenance mechanics typically install this type of fastener where a double-nut or through-bolt configuration is required.
This fully threaded stud is suited for flanged connections, equipment mounting, and structural assemblies in commercial and industrial environments where corrosion resistance is a priority. The B8 material grade makes it appropriate for use in higher-temperature applications such as pipe flanges, pressure vessel connections, and process equipment where standard carbon steel hardware would be inadequate. It can be used in both indoor and outdoor installations where exposure to moisture, chemicals, or elevated temperatures is a factor.
Designed as a standard 5/8-11 UNC fully threaded stud compatible with any 5/8-11 hex nut, coupling nut, or tapped hole meeting ASME B18.31.2 or equivalent fully threaded stud specifications.
Installation is typically performed by pipefitters, millwrights, or maintenance mechanics using standard wrenches or nut drivers. Always de-energize, depressurize, or shut down associated systems before replacing or installing fasteners in pressurized or live mechanical assemblies. Apply anti-seize compound when installing stainless steel studs into dissimilar metals to prevent galling. Torque values should be determined by the engineer of record or the equipment manufacturer specifications for the specific joint being assembled.
