The VALUE COLLECTION B241N 50X15 is a Class 150 malleable iron black pipe hex bushing used to reduce a 2-inch female threaded port down to a 1/2-inch male threaded connection. The hex body provides a secure wrench grip during installation, making it a standard reduction fitting in threaded piping systems. Rated at 150 psi, it is built to handle typical pressure demands in low-pressure gas, water, and general industrial piping applications. The black finish is standard for gas service installations. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working with Schedule 40 threaded black iron or galvanized pipe assemblies.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded pipe size reduction is needed at a fitting, valve, or equipment connection. Common applications include gas line manifolds, boiler piping, compressed air systems, and general plumbing distribution headers where a 2-inch run transitions to a 1/2-inch branch or equipment port. The threaded end connection conforms to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 NPT standards, ensuring compatibility with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings across all major manufacturers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded black iron piping systems conforming to ASME B16.3 Class 150 malleable iron fitting specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, IFGC requirements for gas service, or IPC requirements for plumbing systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before threading or removing any fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium before threading the bushing into the fitting or valve body. Do not over-tighten; excessive force can crack the fitting body or damage mating threads.
