The VALUE COLLECTION B-BUS0703 is a black-finish malleable iron threaded pipe bushing used to reduce a 3/4-inch pipe thread to a 3/8-inch pipe thread. It carries a Class 150 rating and a 300 psi liquid and gas pressure rating, making it suitable for a broad range of low-pressure piping applications. Malleable iron construction provides the toughness and ductility needed to handle installation torque and thermal cycling without cracking. The black finish is standard for gas piping systems and non-corrosive indoor applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting as part of threaded pipe assemblies.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded diameter reduction is required at a fitting junction. Common applications include natural gas supply lines, low-pressure steam and water distribution, and compressed-air headers. It is installed wherever a larger-threaded port must be reduced to accept smaller-diameter pipe or a smaller-threaded component. The Class 150 rating aligns with standard residential and commercial service conditions at moderate pressures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Class 150 threaded malleable iron pipe systems in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC gas piping, and low-pressure fluid or gas distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) as required by the application. Shut off the gas supply or isolate the water or fluid line and depressurize the system before beginning work. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the conveyed medium before making up the joint. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
