The VALUE COLLECTION AD52ABS is a Size 52 open end blind rivet with a dome head, aluminum body, and aluminum mandrel. Blind rivets are installed from one side of a workpiece, making them the standard choice when access to the back of a joint is not possible. The AD52ABS features a 0.312-inch head diameter, a body diameter of 0.156 inches (5/32 inches), and a grip range of 0.063 to 0.125 inches. With a tensile strength of 350 pounds and a shear strength of 225 pounds, this rivet handles light- to medium-duty fastening tasks across sheet metal, enclosures, ductwork, and structural panels. The uncoated aluminum construction keeps the rivet lightweight and corrosion-resistant in typical indoor and mild-exposure environments. Installation requires a standard blind rivet pulling tool sized for the appropriate mandrel diameter.
The AD52ABS is suited for applications where thin-to-medium gauge aluminum, steel, or composite panels must be joined without rear access. Common install scenarios include HVAC sheet metal fabrication, electrical enclosure assembly, sign and panel mounting, and general mechanical assembly work. The required hole diameter ranges from 0.160 to 0.164 inches, which corresponds to a No. 20 wire gauge drill bit. The length under the head is 0.290 inches. This rivet is well-matched to production, field service, and maintenance tasks where a low-profile dome head is acceptable and a clean one-sided installation is required.
Designed as a standard open end blind rivet for use in applications requiring a No. 20 drill hole and a grip range of 0.063 to 0.125 inches across aluminum, steel, or composite panel assemblies.
Installation is performed by sheet metal workers, HVAC technicians, electricians, or general assembly mechanics using a standard hand or pneumatic blind rivet puller sized to accept the mandrel. Drill the workpiece to a hole diameter between 0.160 and 0.164 inches before inserting the rivet. Ensure the total combined material thickness falls within the 0.063 to 0.125-inch grip range before setting to avoid an underdriven or overdriven joint. Inspect the set rivet head and mandrel break for proper flush seating on the accessible face.
