The VALUE COLLECTION A210500 is a 1/4-20 x 1/2-inch truss head machine screw designed for general fastening applications across mechanical, electrical, and light structural assemblies. The truss head profile offers a wider bearing surface than a standard pan head, making it well suited for thin or soft materials where pull-through resistance matters. Constructed from grade 18-8 stainless steel with a bright uncoated finish, this screw delivers solid corrosion resistance without additional plating. Drive type is Phillips. Thread form is Unified National Coarse (UNC). Length is measured under the head at 1/2 inch. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces per package.
This screw sees common use in HVAC panel assemblies, electrical enclosures, plumbing fixture brackets, and light-duty equipment mounting where stainless steel is specified for moisture-exposed or corrosion-prone environments. The 1/4-20 UNC thread is a widely standardized size that mates with common tapped holes and hex nuts across trade and OEM applications. Grade 18-8 stainless is appropriate for indoor and moderate outdoor service conditions. It is not intended for marine or high-chloride environments where a higher alloy grade would be required.
Designed as a general-purpose 1/4-20 UNC machine screw suitable for use with standard tapped holes, threaded inserts, and hex nuts conforming to Unified National Coarse thread specifications.
Install using a Phillips screwdriver or power driver with a Phillips bit sized for a number 2 tip, which is standard for 1/4-inch machine screws. De-energize or de-pressurize any assembly before accessing fastener locations in electrical or pressurized systems. Avoid overtorquing stainless steel fasteners into stainless tapped holes, as galling can seize the thread — applying an anti-seize compound is common practice in the trade. Ensure the mating thread or nut is clean and free of debris before installation.
