The VALUE COLLECTION 95575 is a No. 8 self drilling screw with a hex washer head and hex drive, measuring 1-1/2 inches in length under the head. Constructed from Grade 410 stainless steel, this fastener drills its own pilot hole and taps its own threads in a single pass, eliminating the need for pre-drilling in light-gauge metal applications. The No. 2 drill point is suited for penetrating sheet metal and thin steel sections. Each package contains 50 screws. This is a trade-grade fastener used in HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, metal framing, and general sheet metal assembly.
These self drilling screws are commonly used in residential and light commercial applications where a fast, reliable metal-to-metal or metal-to-substrate connection is required. Typical installation scenarios include securing HVAC duct sections, attaching sheet metal panels, fastening electrical junction box covers, and anchoring light-gauge steel framing components. The hex washer head provides a built-in bearing surface that distributes clamping load and resists pull-through. The Grade 410 stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for mildly corrosive environments.
Designed as a standard No. 8 self drilling screw suitable for light-gauge sheet metal, HVAC ductwork, metal framing, and general metal fastening applications where a No. 2 drill point is specified.
Installation is performed with a power driver fitted with a 1/4-inch hex bit — no pilot hole is required for light-gauge metal within the drill point rating. Avoid over-driving, as excessive torque can strip the threads or damage the washer head seating surface. Refer to applicable sheet metal or structural codes when using self drilling screws in load-bearing or code-inspected assemblies. Stainless steel fasteners can be susceptible to galling if driven at excessive speed; use a controlled RPM setting on the driver.
