The VALUE COLLECTION 93964 is a cup point set screw designed for secure, headless fastening in mechanical assemblies where a flush or recessed installation is required. Manufactured from Grade 18-8 stainless steel, it delivers reliable corrosion resistance in both indoor and outdoor environments. The 3/8-16 UNC thread with a 1-inch overall length suits a wide range of shaft-to-hub locking applications. A 3/16-inch hex drive socket is required for installation. This screw is sold in a pack of 25 and is commonly specified by maintenance technicians, pipefitters, millwrights, and mechanical contractors working on rotating equipment, collars, pulleys, and similar hardware.
This set screw is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical applications where a non-protruding fastener is needed to lock a shaft, hub, collar, or component in place. The cup point tip bites into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement. Typical installation scenarios include motor shafts, set collar assemblies, adjustable clamps, and conveyor components. The stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice for wet, humid, or mildly corrosive environments where carbon steel fasteners would be prone to rust or galling.
Designed as a standard UNC set screw for use in any tapped 3/8-16 threaded hole requiring a cup point, headless fastener in a Grade 18-8 stainless steel material specification.
Installation is performed with a 3/16-inch hex key; ensure the key is fully seated before applying torque to avoid rounding the drive socket. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before inserting or removing set screws in shaft or collar assemblies. Do not substitute a metric hex key, as partial engagement can strip the socket. Verify thread engagement depth meets the requirements of the applicable mechanical design or equipment manufacturer specification before tightening.
