The VALUE COLLECTION 93930 is a 10-24 x 1/2 inch cup point set screw manufactured from grade 18-8 stainless steel. Set screws are fully threaded fasteners with no head — they seat flush or below the surface to lock a component in place against a shaft or bore. The cup point digs into the mating surface for strong rotational hold. Drive is a 3/32 inch hex key socket. Grade 18-8 stainless steel provides corrosion resistance suited to damp or mildly chemical environments. These are sold in a pack of 50, making them practical for shop stock or field service kits.
Cup point set screws in the 10-24 thread size are used across a wide range of mechanical assemblies — securing collars, pulleys, gears, and knobs to shafts in HVAC equipment, pump assemblies, fan blade hubs, and general mechanical systems. The 1/2 inch overall length is a common size for light to medium-duty clamping applications. Licensed mechanics, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and plumbers routinely carry this size for on-site repairs and replacements.
Designed as a standard 10-24 UNC cup point set screw for use in any application requiring an inch-series fully threaded socket set screw of this size and drive type.
Set screws are installed with a hex key (Allen wrench) — use the correct 3/32 inch key to avoid rounding the socket. De-energize and lock out any equipment before accessing rotating shafts or mechanical assemblies. Apply thread-locking compound where vibration is expected, per manufacturer or job-spec requirements. Do not overtighten; seating torque should follow published values for 10-24 stainless fasteners per applicable mechanical or equipment standards.
