The VALUE COLLECTION 934-000-241 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for precise milling operations across a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built to Series 857 standards, this stub-length tool features a 0.09-inch mill diameter, a 0.1350-inch length of cut, and a 0.0450-inch nose radius that produces accurate ball-nose profiles for contoured surfaces and pocket finishing. The 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a variable helix angle between 35 and 40 degrees supports both roughing and finishing passes. The bright, uncoated finish allows for straightforward visual inspection of tool condition during service intervals. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators typically spec this tool for close-tolerance work on small-diameter features.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous materials, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 3/16-inch (0.1875-inch decimal) diameter fits standard collet chucks and tool holders found on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and die-sinking setups where small-diameter ball profiles are required. The stub-length configuration provides added rigidity, reducing deflection during aggressive cuts in confined cavities or near-net-shape finishing work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application cobalt ball end mill for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials in standard collet or tool holder systems accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify collet size matches the 0.1875-inch shank diameter and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications. Confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before commencing the cut, particularly given the small mill diameter where even minor runout can affect surface finish and tool life.
