The VALUE COLLECTION 934-000-240 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 0.0850 inch cutting diameter and a 0.1280 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length single-end tool suited for tight-tolerance profiling, contouring, and slotting operations. The 2-flute geometry with a variable helix angle between 35 and 40 degrees supports both roughing and finishing cuts. The bright/uncoated finish means the cobalt substrate is exposed at the cutting edge, making it well suited for applications where coating adhesion or heat sensitivity is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill on manual mills and CNC machining centers where small-diameter work is required.
This end mill is intended for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in both vertical and horizontal milling setups. The stub length format reduces overhang and improves rigidity, which is especially valuable when milling harder alloys or achieving fine surface finishes in small-feature geometry.
Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (aluminum and non-ferrous), S (high-temp alloys), and H (hardened materials). Fits any collet chuck or end mill holder accepting a 0.1875 inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the Series 857 line of cobalt end mills.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling cutter setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully into the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening to prevent pullout. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated diameter tolerance of +0.0000/-0.0010 inch when selecting this tool for tolerance-critical features.
