The VALUE COLLECTION 934-000-038 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this Series 543 tool features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) mill diameter with a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. The double-end configuration delivers two usable cutting ends, extending tool life on the shop floor. A variable helix angle of 35 to 40 degrees reduces chatter and improves surface finish, making this end mill suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. The bright, uncoated finish keeps regrinding straightforward.
This ball end mill is intended for use in conventional vertical or horizontal machining centers and manual mills where contour milling, slotting, and profiling in harder materials are required. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is sized for use with standard 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank collets or toolholders. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production shop personnel working on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials will find this tool appropriate for their work envelope.
Designed as a stub-length ball end mill for use in 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical collet toolholders on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. Rated for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, H).
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a standard collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Verify collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut, as runout directly affects tool life and surface finish on small-diameter end mills. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds charts for cobalt tooling in the target workpiece material.
