The VALUE COLLECTION 934-000-014 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this double-end tool measures 1/16 inch in diameter with a 3/16-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The bright/uncoated finish and variable helix angle of 35 to 40 degrees support both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Two right-hand spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation while maintaining cutting edge strength at small diameters. Machinists and tool and die professionals rely on this geometry for detailed slot milling and contour work in tight tolerances.
This ball end mill is suited for use on vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines. The 1/16-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work, die cavities, and 3D contouring passes. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The double-end configuration extends tool life by offering two usable cutting ends before replacement. A straight-cylindrical shank with a 3/16-inch diameter allows direct clamping in standard collet chucks or end mill holders.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch ball end mill for use in collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials as designated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate clamping length to prevent runout. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. At small diameters such as 1/16 inch, avoid excessive side load or interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rate reduction to prevent tool deflection or breakage.
