The VALUE COLLECTION 934-000-001 is a cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard materials where high-speed steel tooling falls short. Built to Series 540 specifications, it features a 1/32-inch cutting diameter, a 3/32-inch length of cut, and a 3/16-inch straight shank. The M42 cobalt grade provides elevated heat resistance and edge retention, making it well-suited for stainless steel, alloy steels, and other demanding workpiece materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces at small diameters. This is a double-end tool, offering two usable cutting ends to extend service life before replacement is required. Installation and operation require a qualified machinist or CNC operator.
This end mill is used in vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision profiling or slotting is required. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard convention for most spindle setups. The uncoated bright finish is appropriate for applications where lubricant or coolant is applied at the machine rather than through the tool, as coolant-through is not supported on this tool. Typical applications include die work, mold machining, and precision part production in job shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard production tooling for milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/16-inch straight shank end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully in an appropriate collet or end mill holder before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the 1/32-inch diameter to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
