The VALUE COLLECTION 8CUTMAS5 is an 8D cut-shank masonry nail designed for fastening into concrete, block, and masonry substrates. At 2.5 inches overall length, it uses a traditional cut shank profile that bites into hard material and resists pull-out better than smooth-shank alternatives. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel, it provides the hardness needed to be driven into cured masonry without bending. This nail is a standard tool for framers, masons, and general contractors working on structural attachments to concrete or block walls.
This nail is suited for residential and light commercial masonry fastening applications including sole plate attachment to concrete slabs, furring strip installation on block walls, and framing connections to poured concrete. The 8D penny size and 2.5-inch length make it a common choice for single-member connections to masonry where a powder-actuated tool or anchor is not required. Hand-driven with a framing or masonry hammer.
Designed as a standard cut-shank masonry nail for use in concrete, cinder block, and similar masonry substrates where hand-driven fasteners are specified.
Masonry nails are typically installed by carpenters, masons, or general contractors. Use a steel-faced framing or masonry hammer rated for hardened fasteners. Pre-drilling a pilot hole in dense or cured concrete reduces the risk of nail deflection and substrate cracking. Do not use a finish or trim hammer, as the lighter face increases the risk of glancing strikes and fastener damage.
