The VALUE COLLECTION 887-040C is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressurized plumbing and piping systems where chemical resistance and higher pressure ratings are required. Manufactured from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this nipple measures 2 inches in pipe size and 4 inches in length. The gray coloring is standard for Schedule 80 CPVC fittings, making it easy to distinguish from lower-rated Schedule 40 components on the job. Both ends are threaded for direct connection to compatible female-threaded fittings, valves, or equipment ports. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple in a wide range of commercial and industrial piping configurations.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing applications where CPVC material is specified, including hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling lines, and industrial process piping. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity than Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand service conditions. The 2-inch pipe size fits standard 2-inch threaded fittings and valves commonly found in larger domestic water systems, commercial mechanical rooms, and industrial installations requiring corrosion-resistant plastic pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for standard 2-inch Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC piping. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Use PTFE thread tape or a CPVC-compatible thread sealant on the male threads — do not use petroleum-based pipe dopes, which can degrade CPVC material. Hand-tighten first, then apply only moderate wrench pressure to avoid cracking the fitting.
