The VALUE COLLECTION 88525092 is a Grade 2 steel split lock washer sized for No. 8 screws, supplied in a 200-piece pack. Split lock washers apply spring tension under a fastener head or nut to resist loosening caused by vibration and dynamic loads. This washer features a zinc plated finish for basic corrosion resistance in light-duty applications. The inside diameter ranges from 0.167 to 0.174 inches, the outside diameter ranges from 0.250 to 0.294 inches, and the nominal thickness is 0.040 inches. Electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general mechanical trades use split lock washers wherever vibration-resistant fastening is required in assemblies, enclosures, and equipment mounting.
This washer is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a No. 8 fastener is used in steel or sheet metal assemblies. Typical install scenarios include electrical panel and junction box hardware, HVAC equipment mounting, equipment enclosures, and general mechanical sub-assemblies. The 200-piece pack quantity supports service van stock and small to mid-size project work. Grade 2 steel is appropriate for standard-duty, non-structural fastening tasks that do not require high-strength or military-specification hardware.
Designed for use with No. 8 screws in standard inch-measurement fastener assemblies. Suitable for general mechanical, electrical, and HVAC applications where a Grade 2 split lock washer is specified.
Split lock washers are installed between the fastener head or nut and the mating surface before torquing the fastener to its specified value. Always de-energize electrical equipment and follow applicable NEC or OSHA lockout/tagout procedures before servicing any assembly that requires fastener work. Do not substitute Grade 2 hardware in locations where a higher material grade or military specification is called out by the equipment manufacturer. Inspect washers for deformation before installation, as a collapsed split washer will not provide effective locking tension.
