The VALUE COLLECTION 885-060C is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressure piping systems where chemical resistance and durability are required. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in pipe size and 6 inches in length, this nipple is molded from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), which offers superior resistance to corrosion, scale buildup, and many industrial chemicals compared to standard PVC. The gray coloring is standard for Schedule 80 CPVC fittings. Both ends are threaded for straightforward connection to compatible threaded fittings, valves, or pipe. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple in hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial process lines.
Schedule 80 CPVC pipe nipples are used in residential and light commercial plumbing, industrial piping, and chemical distribution systems where elevated pressure ratings and higher temperature tolerance are needed. The thicker wall of Schedule 80 construction provides greater pressure-bearing capacity than Schedule 40, making it suitable for demanding service conditions. This nipple is appropriate for above-ground threaded installations requiring a compact, fixed-length pipe segment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/4 inch pipe size connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid supply line completely before cutting into any existing piping. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant tape or compound on all threaded joints — do not use petroleum-based pipe dopes, which can degrade CPVC. Avoid over-tightening threaded connections, as CPVC is more brittle than metal pipe and can crack under excessive torque.
