The VALUE COLLECTION 885-060 is a Schedule 80 PVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressurized liquid and chemical transfer piping systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in nominal pipe size and 6 inches in length, this nipple is molded from gray PVC and features NPT threads on both ends for standard threaded connections. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure rating and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40 PVC, making it suitable for more demanding applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple as a close connector between threaded fittings, valves, and equipment flanges in both above-ground and in-wall piping systems.
This nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, industrial process piping, and chemical handling lines where PVC is a code-approved material. Its gray color and Schedule 80 rating are common in industrial and commercial environments where higher pressure or mechanical protection is required. The 6-inch length suits situations where a short extension between fittings is needed without cutting and threading pipe on-site. It is also suitable for pool and spa plumbing systems where PVC Schedule 80 is a standard specification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for use with 1-1/4 inch NPT-threaded PVC fittings, valves, and equipment in Schedule 80 piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded PVC fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and hand-tighten followed by one to two turns with a strap wrench — avoid over-tightening, which can crack PVC fittings. Verify that PVC is permitted by local plumbing code for the intended fluid, temperature, and pressure conditions before installation.
