The VALUE COLLECTION 884-020 is a Schedule 80 PVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressure-rated piping systems where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are required. Measuring 1 inch in pipe size and 2 inches in length, this close nipple is molded from gray PVC and features NPT threads on both ends for direct connection to fittings, valves, and other threaded components. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it suitable for demanding plumbing, irrigation, and industrial fluid-handling applications. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This nipple is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems, chemical processing lines, irrigation distribution, and pool or spa piping where PVC is an approved material. Its 1-inch diameter suits branch lines, service connections, and equipment tie-ins. The gray Schedule 80 designation meets widely recognized standards for pressure piping in cold-water service and compatible chemical applications. The compact 2-inch length makes it useful in tight-clearance installations where a longer nipple would not fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines for PVC pressure piping. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before disassembling any threaded connection. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads before making up the joint hand-tight, then wrench-tighten to avoid over-torquing PVC threads, which can crack the fitting. Do not use PVC nipples in systems carrying hot water above the material rated temperature limit or with solvents not listed as compatible with PVC.
