The VALUE COLLECTION 883-005C is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressurized piping systems where corrosion resistance and thermal durability are required. Constructed from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this nipple handles higher temperatures and pressures than standard PVC, making it a reliable choice for hot-water lines, chemical transfer, and industrial fluid-handling applications. The fitting measures 0.75 inches in pipe size and 1.375 inches in overall length. At 0.24 pounds, it is lightweight and easy to handle during installation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting in both commercial and residential settings.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where short close-nipple connections are needed between fittings, valves, or threaded equipment. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added strength for higher-pressure service compared to Schedule 40. Its gray color is standard for Schedule 80 CPVC, making it easy to identify on the job site. Typical applications include connecting threaded valves, unions, and other threaded components in hot- and cold-water distribution, hydronic heating, and chemical-resistant piping assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 0.75 inch Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT thread patterns.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for CPVC on all threaded connections. Do not overtighten threaded joints, as CPVC is more brittle than metal fittings and can crack under excessive torque.
