The VALUE COLLECTION 867V-247SR is a Schedule 80 PVC clamp-on saddle fitting designed for tapping branch connections off an existing PVC main line. The saddle mounts directly onto the outside diameter of a 2-inch pipe and provides a 1/2-inch SR Female Iron Pipe Thread (FIPT) outlet sealed with a Viton O-ring for a chemical-resistant, leak-tight connection. This type of fitting is a standard tool in industrial plumbing, chemical process piping, irrigation, and commercial pool or water treatment systems where adding a branch outlet without cutting out a full tee fitting is required. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the primary installers.
This fitting is applied wherever a branch tap needs to be added to an existing 2-inch Schedule 80 PVC main line. Common applications include chemical feed injection points, instrumentation taps, irrigation sub-line connections, and pool or spa plumbing distribution systems. The Viton O-ring seat makes it well suited for systems handling aggressive chemicals or elevated service temperatures where standard EPDM elastomers may degrade. The 1/2-inch SR FIPT outlet accepts standard threaded pipe or fittings for the branch run.
Designed for use with 2-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe with a standard outside diameter. The 1/2-inch SR FIPT outlet accepts standard 1/2-inch male threaded pipe or fittings on the branch side.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the main line completely before drilling the recommended 3/4-inch hole through the pipe wall. Ensure the pipe surface is clean and free of burrs before seating the O-ring and tightening the saddle clamp evenly to avoid O-ring distortion or fitting misalignment. Do not overtighten the clamp hardware, as PVC is subject to stress cracking under excessive mechanical load.
