The VALUE COLLECTION 848-012C is a Schedule 80 CPVC end cap designed to terminate 1-1/4 inch CPVC pipe runs with a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connection. CPVC Schedule 80 fittings are rated for higher pressure and temperature applications than Schedule 40, making this cap suitable for hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling lines, and industrial process piping. The thicker wall construction of Schedule 80 provides additional mechanical strength in demanding environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as a permanent or serviceable termination point on pressurized CPVC systems.
This end cap is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where CPVC pipe is the specified material. Common applications include capping unused branch outlets, pressure testing line segments, and terminating pipe runs in mechanical rooms or utility spaces. The FIPT connection threads onto a male-threaded pipe end or fitting adapter. Schedule 80 CPVC is frequently specified in systems carrying hot water or mild chemical solutions where standard PVC is not rated for the service conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 1-1/4 inch pipe with male iron pipe thread terminations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent cementing and threaded connections. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into or modifying any section of the pipe system. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape on the FIPT connection and hand-tighten before applying a final snug turn with strap wrenches to avoid cracking the fitting. Do not use metal pipe wrenches directly on CPVC fittings, as over-torquing can fracture the material.
