The VALUE COLLECTION 84032365 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on round stock, bolts, and fasteners. This die cuts a 3/8-36 thread profile to the UNS (Unified National Special) standard with a right-hand thread direction. The 1-inch outside diameter fits standard round die stocks and holders. Constructed from high-speed steel (HSS), it maintains cutting edge hardness under friction and heat generated during threading operations. The adjustable design allows the user to fine-tune thread fit by slightly opening or closing the die for a snug or free-running result. Machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians use this type of die for threading rod, repair work, and custom fastener fabrication.
This die is suited for threading operations on small-diameter round stock requiring a 3/8-36 UNS thread form. The 3/8-36 designation indicates a 3/8-inch nominal thread diameter with 36 threads per inch, which is a fine-pitch UNS thread commonly found in precision mechanical and instrument applications. It is used in shop environments, maintenance facilities, and field repair situations where a standard die stock accepting a 1-inch OD die is available. Right-hand thread direction is standard for the vast majority of threading applications.
Designed for use with standard round die stocks and holders accepting a 1-inch OD die. Suitable for cutting 3/8-36 UNS right-hand external threads on compatible round stock materials.
This die is installed by a machinist or skilled tradesperson into a round die stock of the correct OD before use. Secure the die firmly in the holder using the set screws before threading. Apply cutting fluid to the workpiece and die to reduce friction, extend tool life, and improve thread finish. Inspect the workpiece diameter against published thread specifications before cutting to ensure proper thread fit.
