The VALUE COLLECTION 839-212C is a Schedule 80 CPVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/2-inch female threaded port down to a 1-1/4-inch male threaded connection. Constructed from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this bushing handles the elevated temperatures and corrosive fluid exposure common in hot and cold water plumbing systems. The MIPT x FIPT end configuration allows direct threaded installation without additional adapters. At 0.33 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting suited for tight spaces in both new construction and repair work.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a pipe size reduction is needed at a threaded fitting connection. Schedule 80 CPVC is the standard choice for pressure service lines, chemical handling, and hot water distribution where higher wall thickness and pressure ratings are required compared to Schedule 40. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of bushing during system assembly, modifications, or repairs involving threaded CPVC piping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/2-inch to 1-1/4-inch reducing connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading any fitting. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant tape or compound on the male threads and hand-tighten before applying additional turns with a strap wrench. Do not use metal pipe wrenches directly on CPVC fittings, as overtightening can crack the fitting body.
