The VALUE COLLECTION 839-211 is a Schedule 80 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/2 inch female threaded port down to a 1 inch male threaded connection. It features male iron pipe thread (MIPT) on the outer end and female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on the inner end, making it a standard reducing bushing for threaded PVC piping systems. At 0.37 pounds, the fitting is lightweight and corrosion-resistant. Plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing when joining pipes of differing diameters in chemical, irrigation, water distribution, or industrial systems where Schedule 80 wall thickness is required.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a threaded PVC reducing fitting is needed. Schedule 80 construction provides greater wall thickness and pressure tolerance compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure service lines, chemical handling runs, and industrial process piping where added mechanical strength is a priority. It is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install reducing bushing for Schedule 80 threaded PVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch to 1 inch MIPT x FIPT connections.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before threading the bushing into place. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant on all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten PVC threaded fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque; hand-tight plus a moderate turn with strap wrench is standard practice.
