The VALUE COLLECTION 839-131 is a Schedule 80 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-inch male-threaded connection down to a 3/4-inch female-threaded connection. It features a male iron pipe thread (MIPT) on the larger end and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on the smaller end, allowing straightforward inline pipe size reduction without additional fittings. Weighing 0.3 pounds, this bushing is suited for plumbing, irrigation, and industrial piping systems where a compact, corrosion-resistant threaded reduction is needed. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This bushing is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems, irrigation lines, and general industrial fluid-handling applications where a 1-inch pipe must transition to a 3/4-inch pipe at a threaded joint. Schedule 80 wall thickness makes it appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines where added strength is required over Schedule 40. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard NPT-threaded PVC fittings and pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before removing any existing fitting or threading this bushing into place. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten PVC threaded fittings, as excess torque can crack the fitting body.
